Steve Bergman

Steve Bergman has a 30-year background in telecommunications management, strategic planning, and marketing.

He has been President of a major telecommunications consulting firm in New York City and Vice President, Marketing and Sales, for two companies in different industries on the west coast. He has both field and call center sales and sales management experience, and has created telemarketing departments and national sales organizations.

As an e-commerce strategist, he integrates traditional telecommunications with Internet technologies to ensure appropriately scalable, robust, and cost-effective infrastructures capable of meeting both financial and marketing objectives. He works as a team player with CEOs and heads of IT, Marketing, and Finance to provide perspective and in-depth expertise that may be lacking or otherwise unavailable in-house. He conducts business process reviews, negotiates knowledgeably with telecommunications suppliers, and ensures that a company can communicate optimally across all locations and media with its employees, suppliers, and customers.

His marketing background includes product planning and product development, technology strategy, market research, customer service, product documentation, and product marketing. He has been product manager for a 2,000 line telephone system, two voice mail systems, a compound document database and messaging systems, and numerous other products and services. His work with various voice, fax, data, messaging, and Internet technologies and applications has always had the objective of making communications easier, faster, more productive, and less expensive for clients and end users.

He has served as consultant in strategic planning and product development to numerous firms in Silicon Valley. He is a pragmatic futurist, a creative businessperson, and not a "techie." He has an ability to extrapolate trends and help clients anticipate how developments in telecommunications technology can help them achieve their corporate objectives. He is fluent in Spanish.

He has taught both undergraduate and graduate classes at Golden Gate University in San Francisco in Telecommunications Management and in Strategic Telecommunications Planning and The Future.
